Earwigs are dark brown, about three-quarters of an inch long, with a distinctive pair of curved pincers on their back end. They are nocturnal and hide during the day in damp, dark spaces — under flower pots, landscape timbers, mulch, and rocks along your foundation.

You find them in your basement, bathroom, laundry room, or garage — anywhere with moisture. They show up in sinks and bathtubs because they fall in and cannot climb out. If you are seeing a few inside, there are many more hiding along your foundation outside.
Why They Come Inside
